DSC00655.JPGWe have all been tired, wet, sick, and beat down the last week... but it seems as if things have turned the corner into the final descent for home. We went ahead and splurged for a hostel the last 3 nights in Roma... which is rare for us, we dont like to spend any money on accomodations and usually prefer to sleep out in the rain next to the side of the road. But the pace and 2.5 months of a beat down finally got the best of me and my body demanded a descent nights sleep. Greg did not enjoy our travel philosophy all that much and once again the remnants of the Band of Savages were unable to effectively mingle with regular productive society. Greg spent the last 2 days on his own in Roma, which was probably for the best... I trust he enjoyed himself... and we needed the sleep.

We are off to see the Pantheon today and the Vatican tomorrow... I am prepared to offer my confession directly to the Pope.

Then we will be off to Greece, some of eastern europe, back through Germany, off to the UK and a departure from Ireland... its the home stretch... see you all soon!

about that line....
written by Shane Sevo, August 22, 2007
Ya, we slept outside the night before (had a rock fight with pick pocketers) and got to the vatican about that time... but then we got in the wrong line and really underestimated the demand to get into the chapel. Seawolfe ended up waiting though and made it in to grab some photos...

THANKS guys!!!! awesome. i loved the pcards and laughed a lot too. your personalities really shine through. i'm glad to see how you've all really embraced your dodo identities. and the pics are nice too of rome. i have to show the other supertrippers. yeah. i was not expecting anything really, but then last fri greg hands me a blank postcard of the leaning tower of pizza and says here, it's not signed, but this is from us. i thought to myself, how fitting that is. anyway. travel safe back and do me a favor, eat european food and not mcdonald's, that place is so bad for you! also spencer is doing really well, he says hi. i let him smell the postcard, haha... bye!
